A golden retriever was abandoned in a hospital by his owner while he had a 42-pound tumor.
Henry, the dog, was ill one day, the owner thought it was a huge mass, so she went to a hospital and left her dog alone and ran away from the place, the mass kept getting bigger and bigger till it reached 42-pounds.
The dog was taken care off and had to go through surgery, so the tumor would be extracted for good, then he had a lot of medications to help him, and now he is recovering well from the incident.
His owner, Sherri Haughton, of New Port Beach, was arrested and presented to the authorities for her horrendous crimes against the poor dog, she was charged with, misdemeanor counts of animal neglect, failure to take care of an animal, animal abuse that leads to serious injuries that almost caused the death of the dog, and finally interfering with the investigation.
The interfered with the investigation because she made it a lot harder by giving the hospital false information about the dog’s condition, as there was evidence that the owner took the dog to the vet for a check up and after she knew his condition she abandoned him in the hospital.
The owner is scheduled to stand in court on the 13 of January to face her crimes, it’s thought that she might serve two years in jail for what she has done.
Henry now lives with a foster family and he is really happy with them, and the give him his medications, so he could stay safe, they are also monitoring his condition to notice the changes happening to him.
