How To Stop Cops From Shooting Innocent Dogs!

It’s been expected that most of the times cops fire their guns, especially if it’s being directed at a dog. But what is happening recently is very shameful. A woman in NYC says that an officer killed her pit bull with no reason outside her apartment. Most of the officers act quickly without giving themselves time to think, and these incidents are happening a lot lately and keep increasing. A dog is killed every 98 minutes by law enforcement. This was according to a documentary called “Puppycide“.

Cindy Boling, a dog owner, was very heartbroken when she relived the day when a cop shot Lilly, her dog, in her back yard in 2015. She told the INSIDE EDITION that they found the dog dying in the backyard, they held her and kept screaming “GOD WHY?”

But Cindy is not the only one, a lot of people say their precious dogs were shot by trigger-happy police. And to make the shooting even more hard to take, many revealed after the officers arrived at the wrong addresses. Too many dogs, including Lilly, were shot down when a cop showed up at the wrong apartment.

A German shepherd called Vinny was shot when a cop from the Leander Police Department in Texas thought a runaway was hiding out in a house. Unfortunately, it wasn’t only the wrong house – it was the wrong town. can you believe it ! Woodson Blase, the officer, was cleared by his administration of any wrongdoing in 2013!

Jamie Chester, Colorado police officer, was involved in shooting a dog at the wrong house in 2011. He claims he was made to fire when Ava,a German Shepherd, acted aggressively. But Brittney Moore, her owner, begs to disagree. She told the INSIDE EDITION there weren’t any justification for that officer to shoot and kill her dog. The shooting was captured on tape by a neighbor, who told the 911 dispatcher: “They fired on the dog for some reason and now she’s going nuts.”

The neighbor said the cop walked over to ask why he was recording. He said they have lived across the street for a long time and they are shocked when a gun was pulled on this poor dog. The neighbor told INSIDE EDITION.

A lot of shocking unfolded cases happen a lot lately, and the problem is getting so serious. And the real question here is How to stop cops from shooting innocent dogs?

On the bright side many departments like New Haven, Connecticut are asking dog behavior expert Brian Kilcommons to teach officers how to deal with aggressive animals without shooting them!
