Uggie, The talented Jack Russell Terrier who was alongside Reese Witherspoon, Christoph Waltz and Robert Pattinson in 2011’s Water for Elephants, and The star of the Oscar winning “The Artist” and the first dog who have his powerful paws’ print in film industry, was put down by vets after suffering from a prostate Tumor for a long time.
His owner, Omar Von Mueller explained that it was hard decision but he had to stop Uggie’s Pain. “I will forever hold him dearly in my heart and never forget his infinite love for chicken and hotdogs,” Sarah Clifford, the dog’s trainer, said.
Uggie who was born in 2002, suffered from ignorance and rejection of his two first owners until he luckily was taken by Omar Von Mueller, The animal trainer, who decided to take care of him till his last day on earth. And sadly, this day came with all sadness and heartaches.
The Incredibly talented Uggie had some roles in What’s Up Scarlett (2005), Wassup Rockers (2005) and Mr Fix It (2006) movies. But he gained the real fame after his role in Water For Elephants. “The Artist” The romantic movie which was filmed in the style of the black-and-white silent films of the 1920s was a turning point in Uggie’s life, This movie that won 5 Oscars in 2012 and Uggie itself took his top prize and honoured with a Palm Dog Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
He played a humanitarian role in an ad campaign that encouraged potential dog owners to adopt from shelters as a spokesdog. Uggie was very smart, energetic, active and hard worker canine, Besides his numerous TV and red carpets appearance, Uggie has his own twitter account and Facebook page.
After diagnosing by Prostate Cancer, Uggie lived with his family his final peaceful days On earth in North Hollywood. And sadly died.
Yes Uggie died, but he left a great and remarkable history behind him, I am pretty sure that No One Will Forget Uggie!
